How to navigate and troubleshoot action failures on Dripify

When using LinkedIn automation, actions may fail due to specific reasons or configurations. Let's break down the common reasons why an action might not execute as expected.

There are two ways to check why leads have failed:

1. If this a recent lead and you can easily find them in the 'Recent activity' window, you can point at 'i' and it will reflect a reason for a fail:

2. Also, you can track that from the campaign itself. To do so, please go to the sequence and click on the 'Failed' next to an action where the lead has failed:

Click on your selected lead and you'll be forwarded to the lead's profile in Dripify. Here, you can point at 'i' as well to see the reason:

Additionally, you can find all your failed leads in the leads tab, sorted by the reason why they failed.

Here is the list of possible reasons for the failures and what can be the cause:

1. Profile Variable Missing

If an action requires information from the lead's profile, such as their job title or company, but this data isn’t available or filled out, the action may fail because the necessary profile variable couldn’t be retrieved.

To resolve this, please use the 'alternative message' option or remove the variable.

2. Duplicate Message

This occurs when the same or a very similar message (with over 90% similarity) was previously sent to a user. Dripify will prevent such duplicate messages from being delivered to avoid spam-like behavior.

As the solution, please try to modify your message more or send it to leads who haven't been contacted yet. Alternatively, you can use the free text compare tool to check your message.

3. Not a 1st-Level Connection

Actions like sending a message or endorsing a profile can be performed with 1st-level connections only. If you’re attempting these actions with a user who isn’t a direct connection, the system will prevent it due to LinkedIn limitations.

As the solution, please make sure to put the 'message' or 'endorse skills' action after the invite has been accepted. Alternatively, filter out the leads who aren't in your connection list.

4. Note Exceeds 300 Characters

LinkedIn has reduced the character limit for invite notes on free accounts from 300 to 200 characters. If your note exceeds this new limit, it cannot be sent and needs to be shortened to fit within 200 characters.

To resolve the issue, please rewrite the invite note for it to be under 200 characters.

5. Lead Not Found

This failure means the lead couldn’t be located on LinkedIn, possibly due to a profile deletion or temporary LinkedIn restrictions. You may want to verify the lead’s profile URL or details.

6. Invite Already Sent

An invite cannot be re-sent to a user if it’s already pending or if less than 21 days have passed since you last withdrew an invite to them. LinkedIn enforces this rule to prevent repeated invitation attempts.

If you want to send an invite to a person who already received one from you, please make sure to withdraw the previous invite and wait for 21 days.

7. No Skills to Endorse

When attempting to endorse a user’s skills, this action will fail if the user has no skills listed on their profile or has hidden this section through their privacy settings.

8. No Posts to Like

If you attempt a “like post” action but the user has no recent posts, the action won’t be able to execute. This often occurs with profiles that have low or no activity on LinkedIn.

9. Generic Error

This error occurs if there’s an issue with the LinkedIn search URL you provided, perhaps due to a typo or an unsupported format. Verify the URL manually; if it’s invalid, delete the lead list and create a new one with a corrected search URL.

10. Not a Followable Profile

This error arises when attempting to follow a profile that either has restricted follow permissions or has already been followed.

11. Profile Already in Your Network

Actions like “send invite” are limited to profiles that are not already 1st-level connections. If a user is already in your network, LinkedIn will prevent this action to avoid redundancies.

To avoid this error, you can avoid adding the 'send invite' action or putting the 'if connected' condition at the beginning.

12. Not an Open Profile

Dripify doesn’t use paid InMail credits, so messages can only be sent to users with Open Profiles. This LinkedIn Premium feature allows all LinkedIn members to contact a Premium user, even without a direct connection.

As the solution, please use 'if open profile' condition before the 'send InMail' action.

13. Failed to send a message

Since messages can be sent only to your 1st level connections and Dripify makes sure to not send the same message to the same lead twice, you may get some failed leads due to those factors.
